Cath Lab

Cath Lab

The Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) at our hospital is a shared unit utilized by both the Cardiology and Interventional Radiology teams. It is fully equipped to perform a wide range of minimally invasive, image-guided procedures for both cardiac and vascular conditions. In addition to elective procedures such as coronary angiography and cardiac catheterization, the Cath Lab also supports emergency balloon angioplasty and stent placement, available 24/7.

Advanced interventions like pacemaker and intracardiac defibrillator (ICD) implantation are regularly performed. The unit is also used for angiography and stenting of the carotid arteries, renal arteries, and peripheral arteries by our interventional radiologists, allowing for comprehensive vascular care under one roof.

The Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) Department is a high-tech, multidisciplinary unit that supports both cardiologists and interventional radiologists in performing minimally invasive, image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Equipped with advanced imaging systems and precision tools, the Cath Lab is a critical component in treating cardiovascular diseases and other vascular conditions without the need for open surgery.

Our Cath Lab enables a wide range of procedures, including:

  • Coronary Angiography and Cardiac Catheterization

  • Emergency Balloon Angioplasty and Stent Placement (24/7)

  • Intracardiac Defibrillator (ICD) and Pacemaker Implantation

  • Peripheral Angiography and Stenting (e.g., legs, arms)

  • Carotid and Renal Artery Interventions

  • Structural Heart Procedures (e.g., ASD/VSD closure, valvuloplasty)

  • Vascular Access, Embolization, and Non-cardiac Interventions (by interventional radiology)

The department operates around the clock for emergency cardiac cases and supports a broad spectrum of vascular procedures, contributing to faster recovery times, reduced hospital stays, and improved patient outcomes.
