Community Health Mission – August 10–18, 2026 – Abuja

Serve Communities. Expand Access. Make a Lasting Impact.

Join healthcare professionals from around the world in a unique medical mission experience focused on community outreach, preventive healthcare, and the diagnosis and treatment of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) across underserved communities in Nigeria.

Hosted by Nizamiye Hospital Abuja, this program brings together physicians, nurses, public health specialists, pharmacists, medical students, and allied healthcare professionals committed to improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations.

Nigeria is home to some of the world’s highest burdens of neglected tropical diseases, including lymphatic filariasis, schistosomiasis, onchocerciasis (river blindness), soil-transmitted helminth infections, and other preventable conditions that disproportionately affect rural and underserved populations.

Through free clinics, community health screenings, and collaborative outreach efforts, volunteers will work alongside local healthcare professionals to:

  • Provide primary care services to underserved communities
  • Screen for neglected tropical diseases and related complications
  • Conduct health education and disease prevention programs
  • Strengthen local healthcare capacity through training and collaboration

Volunteers will have opportunities to:

  • Participate in clinical discussions at Nizamiye Hospital Abuja
  • Exchange knowledge with local healthcare professionals
  • Learn about healthcare delivery in resource-limited settings

How to Apply

Interested volunteers are encouraged to submit an updated Curriculum Vitae (CV), brief statement of interest, and professional credentials to info@nizamiye.ng for further information.
