WHY CHECK UP?

Having check-ups on regular intervals is one of the most important things for a person who wants to ensure a better quality of life. The basic purpose in medicine is identification of risk factors, early detection of disease and complications of chronic disease. Early diagnosis and treatment is the most important stage for treatment and to prevent from disease progression.
Check-up may help to change bad habits (smoking, use of alcohol, unhealthy diet etc.) through medical counseling and such can go a long way in preventing certain diseases.

WHAT SHOULD BE DONE BEFORE CHECK-UP?

Getting ready for a check-up will allow you complete the procedures in a shorter duration with more reliable results. Before coming to hospital you should care about the followings:

  1. Fast at least 6 hours.
  2. Come along with previous medical documents.
  3. Avoid any vigorous sport activity and alcohol for at least 24 hours.
  4. Stop non-prescribed vitamins or supplements at least 48 hours.
  5. If you are using any medication, make sure you come along with them.
  6. Please inform your doctor if you have any slightest suspicion of pregnancy.
  7. Female patient are not advised to have check-up during the menstruation period.
